Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser (Original & Oil-Free) | The Review

Sunday, 13 April 2014

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser has to be the most hyped up tinted moisturiser of all time. I personally have tried both the original version and the oil-free version, and here are my opinions on them....

Price: ★★☆☆☆

£33.5 for 50ml, On average £0.67 for 1 ml
A Definite high end product.

Finish: ★★★☆☆

Dewy for both versions, but weird enough, the oil-free version comes off more greasy instead by glow-y. I have combo-oily skin, not the best finish for me.

Original (BOTTOM)

Pakaging: ★★★★☆

Both comes in tubes, which is okay. Not too sophisticated, but practical.

Coverage:★★★☆☆

It offers more coverage that I expected in a tinted moisturiser, but still sheer. Enough to even skin tone and minor redness, but doesn't combat dark spots and blemishes at all.

Color Match:★☆☆☆☆

If you're pale, like REALLY PALE, (MAC NC15 , NARS chantilly sort of pale), or you have pink undertone to your skin, you won't find your true match. I have them in the lightest colour, but they're still too yellow.  It's absolutely possible to get away with it. I only noticed the fact that the original version is too dark for me when I almost finished it. If you like your skin to look a bit tanner, the colour may not bother you, but just make sure it matches the rest of your body.

It's worth mentioning that the oil-free version is yellower than the original.

Lasting Power: ★★☆☆☆

It is a quite moisturising base so... you can imagine the staying power. I need powder anyway, but when I'm wearing this I need roughly 2-3 touches up a day.

Overall: ★★★☆☆

An average product that doesn't worth the hype... At least for me.
A big let down is the colour, otherwise I wouldn't  have a almost a whole tube of the oil-free version resting in my makeup drawer... and £33.5 gone.
